40 conversation starters for kids

 Hey readers,

It can be hard to get your child to open up to you therefore a prompt can sometimes really help give them the encouragement to talk to you. It doesn't have to be anything serious the idea is to help with your child communicate and engage in conversation with you.

  1. Great tips for talking to kids! This is a timely post for me to read. We're hosting our 3 grandsons for several weeks. They all live out-of-town from us, and we love spending time with them in the summers.

  2. Great tips! When my youngest isn't chatty when she comes in from school I always ask her to tell me her 3 favourite things that she did that day and it gets her chatting. Usually there's a lot of moaning about various things but it starts the conversation x

  5. It's a nightmare getting kids to talk isn't it. We have a selection of questions we ask our kids when we are in the car as that's when they are most responsive. Last time, though, they were way to busy talking to each other, honestly, they live in the same house yet know so little about what each other is doing. That's teens for you!

  6. I love these! Of course, not all of them may reveal much about the child, depending on who's doing the conversation starting. For example, if I were a parent, I'd probably know when my kids learned to tie their shoes. However, some others are great for parents to get to know their kids in a fun way.

  8. This is a great list. It's so easy to just let them be and not make the effort to start these conversations but it really is critical to keep that communication going #dreamteam
